The Fire Safety Awareness Program was successfully organized at Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology (TPGIT), Vellore, to promote fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness among the campus community. The program provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during fire emergencies.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. P. Mahendiran, Fire and Rescue Service, Vellore. for delivering an informative and practical session. His expert guidance and live demonstration on fire safety helped participants understand the importance of preventing fire hazards and responding confidently during emergencies.

The institution also expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the Heads of Departments, faculty members, technical staff, laboratory assistants, and supporting staff for their enthusiastic participation, cooperation, and support, which contributed to the successful conduct of the program.

The program focused on creating awareness about fire safety, educating participants on common fire hazards, fire prevention measures, and emergency preparedness. Participants learned about different types of fires, the appropriate use of fire extinguishers, safe evacuation procedures, and assembly points during emergencies.

A live demonstration of the PASS Technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep) enabled participants to gain practical experience in operating fire extinguishers safely and effectively.

The awareness program enhanced participants' understanding of fire safety practices, improved their confidence in handling emergency situations, and reinforced the importance of protecting themselves and others during a fire emergency.

The successful completion of this program reflects the institution's continued commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and well-prepared campus environment for students, faculty, and staff.
